SYONA is the most recent addition to the fleet at Port Fairy. Recently purchased by Tony Cassidy, he has assembled a crew of four to sail SYONA from it's present home, Brisbane, to Port Fairy. They will depart on 19th of November, 2004. The cruise, of about 900NM, is expected to take eight days in good conditions. In reality, it will probably take about two weeks.

SYONA was launched on 28 September 1960 after four years of construction by Peter Docker and Ron Swanson in Sydney, NSW. She is built to Robert Clark |
After restoration SYONA was sailed to Melbourne in 1999, where she spent a year undergoing an internal refit. She was then sailed back to Sydney (weathering 48 hours of gales in Bass Strait without fuss) and on an extended 3000NM cruise to the Whitsundays, finally returning to Brisbane in late 2000.
